When God Changes Your Clothes
Description:Ephesians 4:17-24Thank God for the truth and freedom He has revealed in Ephesians! We now move into the second half of the letter and into an emphasis by the Apostle Paul on what the Christian life looks like. The first half of this epistle has a laser focus on God creating a new person in Christ. Chapters 1-3 are filled with God-statements of truth! There is no calling you to do anything, but to believe what God alone has done to you, for you in Christ! Chapters 4-6 tells us what this new creation actually looks like, partially in this life, and completely in glory! This half describes what new birth looks like in the life, the now life of the Christian. New Birth = New Life! Because the new birth is so powerful, it produces a new way of living! Born anew...live anew! Now born anew, we do not live a-old, we live a-new!This new life in Christ occurs because of a fundamental garment change!
Description:Ephesians 4:11-13The words “Fill, full, fullness, filled, filling” appears in the Bible 463 times! These concepts infer we haven’t arrived. Our need to grow in Christ, be filled with the Spirit, and have our cup overflow remind us that we leak through the cracks in our lives, and that God is the one that continually fills us. Both Ephesians & Colossians are full of the concept. There is more territory to conquer!“There is much unconquered territory in my nature, scourge out the buyers and sellers of my soul’s temple, and give me in return pure desires, and longings after perfect holiness.” -Unknown. Valley of Vision Puritan PrayersAnd even greater than our desire may or may not be, God’s desire to continually bring us into the “whole measure of the fullness of Christ” doesn’t ever fade. He is committed to bring you from death in sin, to fullness in Christ! In His pursuing love, He will bring you and I from one degree of glory to another in the Treasure of Jesus!2 Corinthians 3:17-18 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (18) And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. He does this awesome transforming work in the most unusual ways, and at the most unusual times. He causes you to grow when He calls your name twice! (Not audibly, but figuratively).

Description:Ephesians 2:1-10The stench of death is the stream we swim in all the week long. From the stench of unbelief that opens wide the smells of bad attitudes, short patience, discouragements galore, we live in this world all too much. Delayed hope, haunting memories of lost loved ones, worries that bind us up and faith that is easily extinguished. We need the sweet smelling aromatherapy of the gospel of our Lord, who was raised from the stench-tomb and now stands in victory as THE FRAGRANCE OF LIFE!The murder of The Author of Life was a stench of death…turned into the fragrance of life!
Description:Ephesians 2:1-10 (Part 10)Not one of us remembers being born. How many here have been born? How many here remember it? We don’t. In order to understand what took place those few years ago, someone else must tell us. As is our natural birth, so is our spiritual birth. Here in this classic passage of scripture, we are told the truth of the situation by God Himself. And it is nothing less than the amazing grace of God that has saved us. Do closely note here what God is saying about your new life in Jesus…and what He is not saying. Listen closely. Your joy in Jesus, your effectiveness in ministry and the vitality of your spiritual life depends on understanding, and seeing, and savoring the amazing grace of God that raised you from the dead and gave you new life! You did not raise yourself by your decision, yielding, obedience or surrender. God, single-handedly, and with no strings attached raised you to new life!
