His word of LAW ( thou shall, thou shall not ) convicts us of our sin and reveals to us the awareness of our need for God's grace.

His word of GOSPEL ( I will ) is his promise to forgive our sin and declare us righteous in Jesus Christ.

This gospel promise is the answer to our need for the finished work of Jesus Christ!
